I was SO excited to finally see fruit on my tomato plant!  I thought I'd share the little guys with you, and update from this post a while back. 

The hardest thing with this plant has been weeding out and getting rid of healthy sprouts so the rest have room to grow.  I feel so bad ditching perfectly good plants that I raised from seeds!  I haven't done a great job of it either, I could probably get rid of a few more.  I am so proud to have my first real little tomatoes shoot out - can't wait to eat them up. 

My Magic Garden

I got a late start on my plantings but I wanted to share with you what I have so far.  I just started a couple of weeks ago, and wow my tomato plant is going crazy.  I got nervous that it wouldn't take and basically dumped all of the seeds...and now its a bit overcrowded.  Need to transplant some of them, asap, once I get some new pots.  SOON! 

Basil is doing pretty well too!  I love basil so much, pesto is my absolute favorite thing to eat in the world so I can't WAIT until I can make some of my own!  Especially since I got a new cuisinart this year, it will be a breeze! 

On the not so successful side, are my other herbs - rosemary, chives, and dill.  Not so hot.  Maybe they'll perk up soon?  If not its ok, though - basil and tom are my favs anyway. 

Gardening is like magic!  Yay summer!

Apron in Action!

Here is my mom modeling her new apron (that I hinted at here) on her birthday this weekend.  I was so glad she liked it!

Plus, it has a secret identity - it doubles as a garden gatherer!  By buttoning up the sides, you can fill the pouch with all sorts of fresh goodies.   I found the idea here, at Clever Nesting.

I spent the first weekend of spring in Connecticut with my lovely family.  Saturday morning I did something I'm sure few of my big city pals have done - hauling manure!
