Brooklyn is Where It's At

Looking for something to do this summer?  Or, ever?  Check out this amazing list from Gothamist of why Brooklyn is so amazing!  I know, I'm not the first to say it, but having lived here for nearly 6 years I've got maybe a little bit of BK cred?  Maybe?  Ok, fine.  But perhaps when I finish this list I will.  We'll talk then.

So, if you live in the city, or come for a visit, or are one of my own personal friends that lives in the city and may generate a yearly summer to do list (AHEM), maybe we could add some of these to it?  Just saying.

In the meantime, I will be busy checking some off on my own.

Weekend with Mom and Dad

I never get tired of looking at this.  The Brooklyn Bridge is stunning, no matter what time of day.

My parents came to visit me this weekend and I took them down to the newly renovated (and work in progress) Brooklyn  Bridge park.  Its so lovely!  Fantastic views of downtown Manhattan, the water, the bridges, and plenty of space to relax.

These areas are newly opened this year with more to come - including ball fields, tidal pools, free kayaking, a beach, a picnic area and more.
Its such a beautiful vista its prime location for wedding pictures - it down poured on our way over, but the sun was peeking out when we arrived, so all of the well dressed revelers came out and snapped away!

Here is my Dad, posing.

Ah these views are just nuts!  I love my city.

More to come!!!

Weekend Wonders

Such a lovely weekend as temperatures reached 90 degrees in New York City. I spent Saturday biking around Brooklyn with Brian - we visited the newly expanded Brooklyn Bridge Park. You should definitely check it out if you're in town! An amazing view and a great way to while away an afternoon.

You know what I really like doing? Biking in a dress. True, some adjustments are needed to ensure that the whole world doesn't see your underpants or you get tangled up beyond repair, but if you can get it together it just makes me feel very feminine and powerful and free all at the same time. Or to put it more succinctly: wheeeeeee!!!!

*Thanks for the picture honey! (I stole it from your twitter.)
