Christmas Tag Tip!

Hello!  I did some Christmas wrapping this weekend.

One thing I like to do is make gift tags out of old greeting cards.  Its free, festive, and fun!  Just pick a card, any card (or, one you can part with, and that has no writing on the back of the cover), and snip it up into squares, rectangles, whatever you like!  I use decorative scissors but regular work fine too.  Punch a hole in the corner of each little tag, tie it to your gift and you're ready to go!

I also made this little bag from scrap fabric - just use a long rectangular piece, fold it in half wrong sides out and sew up the sides.  I snip the top with pinking shears to stop fraying too.  Turn it right side out and ta da!

Happy Wrapping!

Starting Them Out Young

Check it out! Even people not related to me enjoy my handiwork! Children even! And those guys are honest you know. Here is a little friend of mine (and nephew of my friend Rebecca, a chef). His name is Gabi and here he is sporting his new handmade (by me) apron on Christmas morning.

Yay! I think he likes it!

Thanks Becca for the idea! And thank YOU, Gabi, for being such a delightful model.
I used this tutorial as a base and freehanded it from there, making it double sided and adding two pockets, because kids need pockets for their treasures. This was a fun (and fast) project - maybe I'll make my own tutorial of it - what do you think?

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas
to all of my readers and friends!
I'll be out playing in the snow and celebrating the season with my family so I won't be posting until next week. Have fun everyone!

One more!

I found another stellar idea to add to the post below! How About Orange has a great idea for making bows out of magazine pages! The perfect way to jazz up your package - doesn't it look sophisticated, with the plain newspaper wrapping and the bright bow? Love it!

Check out the post, and the blog while you're there! Its one of my favs.
